I’ve found this process very bizarre. I find myself rooting against athletes who are younger than I in some twisted attempt to feel better about the extent to which I still don’t feel like I have my shit together.

I am going to have to do this someday, but I am afraid to see the results. One measure that I have held on to is the fact that Giggs is still playing. That makes him the only player playing at the top level since I started following soccer.
